Git Hub link errors

Hello, I recently took a course in Git Hub to understand how this works. I installed the GIT for Windows and made notepad as my default editor. I worked on the examples provided in the Course Git Hub. So when I was trying to push my origin master to my git hub profile, iam getting the following error: $ git push origin master
Logon failed, use ctrl+c to cancel basic credential prompt.
remote: Invalid username or password.
fatal: Authentication failed for 'https://github.com/hermes-schema/git_practice.git/' Now, i remember entering the correct authentication details, however this error remains. my question is which username / pwd is being asked here? Thank you, Gautama Lakshmiratan
