In the section Adding a Custom Calculation, why did you use the sum function?

Hi Ayush,
We use the sum function to indicate to Tableau that this is a range that needs to be summed. Otherwise, if we simply add the range without any operation in front of it, Tableau wouldn’t know what to do with it.
