Clarification questions

in The Machine Learning Algorithms A-Z / Understanding Logistic Regression Output

Why don't the probabilities for the away team and the home team add up to one? Yet one is 73% and the other 86%. What do these mean?


also when doing log(p/1-p) =a+ bx, we're trying to estimate a and b but it seems like we don't know what p is either right? Aren't there too many unknowns?
