Filtering Fact table based on Dim table

Question

Hi,

I don't understand how the "dimcustomer" can be used to filter the fact table based on anything we select from the dimension table. Kindly give me an example.

Filtering happens via relationships - you have a customer key in dimcustomer and a customer key in the fact table. Once connected the dim customer can filter the fact table on anything.
