key excel functions -sumifs and countifs

in Introduction to Excel / Key Excel Functions: COUNT, COUNTIF, COUNTIFS

how do you know thw first criteria to input when using sumifs and countifs especially when we have more than 2 or 3 conditions ?

Sumifs when you have the add something, and Countifs when u have to count the number of cells in the range of the criteria.
