Net Income in brackets in Excell

Hi! I don't get why you say that numbers of Net Income are the same in the table and after checking. If I got that wright, when number is in brackets, it is negative and vice versa. Therefor Net Income numbers are different. In the new table it is positive (we got profit) but in Data Base they are negative (we lost something :) Could you please explain in to me? Where am I wrong?

Hi Aleksandr! Thanks for reaching out and great to have you here. The idea is that we do the following.
  1. We use SUMIF to transfer the P&L figures from the source sheet.
  2. In the source sheet, we have Net income (the extraction from the ERP system gave us this number too).
  3. We know that the bottom line result of the P&L is Net income
  4. When we transfer Net income through SUMIFS and we give it a negative sign, we can expect a check of 0 (Net income - Net income =0)
Hope this helps! Feel free to ask me an additional question if you need to. Best, Ned
