non corresponding tableau edit axis tool

In improving the organization of the chart in the chart 1: Visualizing the Solution in Tableau - Part II lecture in sql + tableau course, the bars did not correspond to the years accurately. Following the video, I discovered the tool to narrow the bars to their corresponding year as shown in the video was missing in mine. I still see 1989 and 2003 displayed in the view of my tableau.
