Alternative Answer Using Case

in SQL / SQL Subqueries nested in SELECT and FROM

I started learning the 'case' statement, and I just couldn't not come back and rewrite this ̶u̶g̶l̶y̶ overcomplicated query XD

Could this query be less efficient though?

This query also solves the task, but the idea is to use subqueries.
