Hi,
Please, I am installing a package in R but I keep receiving a pop-up that reads; would you like to use a personal library instead? I click on yes but after a while, it returns that the directory set is not writable therefore, i unable to install package.
Is there any way to solve this challenge? Thank you and hope to hear from you soon.
Best regards,
Adwoa.
Hi Adwoa,
You could try opening R studio with administrative rights. Before you start R Studio, ‘right click’ on the icon and select ‘Run As Administrator’.
Alternatively, you could select ‘no’ if you’re prompted to use a personal library.
But do share, if there is still a problem.
All the best,
Eli
Hi Eli, I have tried the suggested steps but the problem still persist and I am unable to install the package.
Which package are you trying to install? And which version of R studio are you currently using?
I am trying to install the ‘flexboard’ package in R studio version 3.6.2
I suggest you take a look at the suggestions here and try them out, as they are discussing the same issue: https://github.com/RevolutionAnalytics/RRO/issues/144
