Direct Query Using Refresh?

in Power BI / Refreshing Data

I noticed that when pressing the refresh button the Power BI (2) Table was updating as well, why is this? And makes me wonder: does using the direct query updates every certain time or does it update everytime there's a change?

With Direct Query you still need to refresh, it is just that the refresh is a lot faster because you are not importing data into the model.
