Just a reporting about speed of light

In this lecture you show that speed of light is 3,000,000,000 m/s, but the speed of light is a bit less than 300,000,000 m/s instead. I just wanted to report this error. Thank you

Hey Alessandro,

Thank you for your comment!

You are correct, the speed of light is a bit less than what is written in the lecture. However, notice the tilde sign in front of the number. It reads as "is comparable to" or "is of the order of" which makes the statement correct - the speed of light is indeed of the order of 3 billion m/s. It would have instead been incorrect to put an equal sign there.

Hope this helps!

Good morning. No, it's NOT a bit less than what is written in the lecture! The speed of light is NOT of the order of 3 billion m/s. As I said above, the speed of light is a bit less than 300,000,000 m/s, and NOT a bit less than 3,000,000,000 m/s. The problem is not the tilde sign, the problem is the order of magnitude. Thank you

Hey again Alessandro,

I wasn't careful enough with my answer and it seems I've misread that, thank you for clarifying!
