Possible conflict in Multiplication rule?

Hello,

In the 0:45 min mark, the multiplication rule is given as P(B|A) * P(A). However, in the previous video, it was slightly different as P(A|B) * (P|A). Please, is there something I missed?

Hey Emmanuel,

Thank you for your question!

In the Multiplication Rule video, the formula is given by
P(A intersected with B) = P(A|B) * P(B)
rather than P(A|B)*P(A) :)

Since it doesn't matter whether you intersect A with B or B with A, the expression on the right-hand side could be both written as P(A|B)*P(B) or P(B|A)*P(A).

Hope this helps!

Kind regards,
Hristina
