Difference between traditional data and big data

What is the difference between traditional data and big data?

Both traditional data and Big data depends on past data in common but traditional data has more of smaller data like customer profile data which contains one time data like name, address, phone number etc. They can be filled in Excel files as data is small.
Whereas in Big Data you need to use data at constant time means to say each and every second of data; example Financial stock price which needs to be noted every minute in a day and same has to be repeated for whole year. As stock-price keep changing so one need to have all details for each minute/seconds. They need to be filled in particular softwares like Hadoop and MongoDB.
