Plan defined by 3 vectors ?

At Min 8:16  The course speak about 3 axis of a plan.  If there is 3 axis, it is a volume, no longer a plan as a plan only need 2 vectors and a point to be defined. Could you elaborate ?

In these it is showing 3 axis because whenever we get data with three dimension attributes it will show data points in three dimension and it will become difficult to calculate. So, it will convert 3 dimension to 2 dimension plane for better calculation.
