i have tried everything from trying to uninstall and install again to following numerous youtube videos. I keep getting different errors at different stages of the download
Hi Tahira, it seems like one of your SQL instance is still running, the person in this video stops the instance so try following them, if you have windows 10 or 11 just try searching the folders they are getting from the start menu, (hope this finally fixes it haha) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DtSUWY1batQ

Many thanks for sharing, I have followed the video and again still no luck :(
I have gone to the programme and feature sections>> uninstalled SQL from there
I have made sure i have gone into windows desktop and deleted all sql related things from programme files
I have made sure i have the Microsoft visual C++ installed too.
But now every time i attempt to download My SQL i get below error-please see below screenshot
I guess time to use postgresql or ms sql haha jk , hopefully someone checks this thread and knows how to fix this :/

Please accept my apologies for the delayed response.

The issue is local and most probably arises since you have made several attempts to install Workbench, Tahira. In fact, we can only have one installation of the server on our operating system.
If, for some reason, it doesn't work, one needs to completely uninstall Workbench and the MySQL Server from their computer, reboot and only then can they retry installing the software anew.
