Metadata is data about your data. If you have a file with data, then this file will have its own:
- date of creation
- user who created it
- date of last modification, etc.
This is data that describes the data in the file.
On the other hand, activity data is data that is generated by a user's activity inside a system/platform. For example, in some instances 365 collects data on which pages you have clicked on as a user and based on that information we decide whether users engage with a particular feature or not.
Does the difference between the two terms i described here make sense, please?
