Will I learn the math in a later course or am I expected to understand by now?
I have no mathematical background so it's hard to follow. I understand what's going on but not necessarily how to execute those formulas (yet)

I don't actually know how to read formulas yet, there wasn't any prior guidance other than standard Khan Academy high school math. I have no mathematical background so I'm hoping to learn how to actually read those formulas.
