Hello, if this is your first time on our blog. And welcome back if you have enjoyed our previous articles.

Let me introduce myself – I am Dimitar Shutev, a senior BI developer and a course instructor at 365 Data Science.

And I’m happy to announce the release of our latest course - Power BI!

In this post, I’ll share with you why Power BI is an awesome data modeling tool and why I believe every data science student should consider using it. I’ll share intriguing details about our course. And in the end, I’ll tell you a bit more about my professional background and BI experience.

The 365 Data Science Power BI Course

The goal of the course we prepared for you is not only to teach you how to create stunning dashboards but also to introduce you to data modeling and data transformations. Some of the practical skills you will acquire in the videos include writing DAX, setting up calculated columns and measures, generating roles, and sharing dashboards with your team or clients. We also show you how Power BI allows you to connect to hundreds of data sources and quickly analyse your data for free.

So, Who Is The Power BI Course For?

This training is ideal for beginners and anyone who’s looking for a hands-on, project-based introduction to Power BI. Whether you are an aspiring data professional or a data science enthusiast, this course will help you master one of the most popular business intelligence tools on the market. If you happen to be a person interested in dashboard design, you’ll be more than satisfied by our content. And finally, this course is perfect for students, who want a comprehensive, engaging and highly interactive approach. I certainly would have enjoyed this type of training at the beginning of my career.

How Is the Course Structured?

The 365 Power BI Course covers 10 sections and 8 hours of interactive video lectures. It begins with an introduction to Power BI and a guide to obtaining a free copy of Power BI desktop. Don’t worry if you are a MAC user, there’s a non-technical solution for you as well. Following the basics, the course continues with some of the best practices that will help you become a Power BI developer. What is more, it comprises sections on how to enter data inside Power BI using DAX code or the native Power BI interface. You’ll have the opportunity to build your first data model and examine the relationships available in Power BI. In addition, we’ll touch base on Role Level Security. There are lectures that drill into more sophisticated functions such as time-intelligence, iterators, and data-modeling, as well.

But that’s not all. You’ll also discover how to style your dashboards and boost your reports’ efficiency. And, in the final project, you will implement all the knowledge you’ve gained in this course by building a dashboard for a sales team from scratch.

Here’s a list of the skills you’ll acquire in this course.

What Will You Learn?

Once you complete the course, you’ll:

  • know how to create data models inside Power BI;
  • have a good solid understanding of DAX;
  • be able to build beautiful and interactive dashboards that can be presented to clients;
  • feel confident when working with data to meet business needs;
  • have full exposure to the dashboard creation and sharing process.

Sounds exciting, doesn’t it? I could share many more details, but I’ll let you discover them on your own.
