how to type numbers starting with zeros in excel

I tried typing an account number that starts with zero digit in excel but anytime I type zero it disappears and I tried formatting the cell but not getting what i need. Please can you tell me other ways to get this done in excel? Thank you

Hi Eze! Thanks for reaching out. Can you please double-check the link provided? I arrive at a "page not found" error. This may help us assist you better. Thank you. Otherwise, if I've managed to correctly understand your question, you may only need to indicate you want the marked cells to be of Text format, and then retry inserting values starting with 0.
Furthermore, these values could be used for calculations. Hope this helps.
Best,
Martin

Hi Ezel, So that you can insert leading zeros in a numerical cell, do the following:
  1. Right click on the desired cell (or range of cells) and select "Format Cells..." from the context menu.
  2. Select "Custom".
  3. In the "Type" field (where it is initialised with the word "General"), type how many leading zeros you want to allow followed by one # sign.
For example, if you want to allow 3 leading zeros, type: 000#
