Could you please explain the answer to Q6 in the practice exam? According to the lecture, E[po(lambda)] = lamba. Since one is 3 and the other is 8, why the sum of the two poison variables are 1/3 + 1/8 instead of 3 + 8?

I think that it related to the rate. It is said that cars arrives at a rate of 3 which means that 1 of three cars are individual ones and 1 of 8 cars are family ones. Not sure about but this is the only explanation I found.
