The Second Question's Confusing Ability

I see independent events as one where the outcome of one does not interfere with the other. However, in the second question it seems that there a few that I'd say don't interfere with each other. For instance, drawing a queen or a jack seems totally unrelated to me. Can you explain the reasoning behind the answer?

I got mistaken at first as well. Drawing a Jack and drawing Queen are mutually exclusive, but not independent. We cannot show:
P(J intersection Q) = P(J)*P(Q)
Since:
0 not= (4/52)*(4/52)
