Data science and Data analytics

I am confused about the difference between data science and data analytics, seems to me that data analytics should be a subset of data science going by your definition that data science is a discipline that involves availability of data and moreso DSP uses data. Please clarify

Hi,

I can understand your confusion. Data analytics can certainly be seen as a subset of data science. In our definition, we distinguish between data analysis (using simple statistics and analysis techiques) and data science, which relies on heavier advanced statistics and machine learning. However, I completely understand your point. There is no right or wrong classification here. It's about understanding what is included in each field and how you can perform these types of analyses.

Best,

Ned
