Specifying the array in Index formula

In the lecture when specifying the array for the Index formula you used a single column. In the Exercise you used the entire table. Why?? Whats the difference between the two?

Hi abhinav!

Thanks for reaching out.

Please pause the video at 1:38. You will see that the INDEX() function works both with an array, as well as a column reference. Whichever option we choose to use, we need to provide a row number afterwards to indicate to Excel which row from the selection we are interested in. Therefore, in the lecture/exercise we opt for a different data subset to work with.

Hope this helps.
Best,
Martin
