Good day,
Is it ok to say that Analysis does not necessarily require Numbers While Analytics does?

Hi Olisa!

Thanks for reaching out.

Not exactly. Both analysis and analytics may or may not involve the use of numbers. What matters is whether they aim to explain the past (i.e. in terms of historical records, numeric or not), in which case we will be talking about analysis, or whether they aim to predict the future (analytics).
Please pay attention to the fact that quite often companies, hiring managers etc. may use analytics as a term comprising both activities. They might as well do the same with analysis. Nevertheless, we stick to this distinction throughout this course because we believe this represents the most precise way to use these terms.

Hope this helps.
Best,
Martin
